CHEF MATT HAIST

PRESIDENT & CULINARY EXPERT

Matt Haist began his culinary career in the mid-1980s in Cleveland, Ohio.  He graduated summa cum laude in 1994 from Johnson & Wales University. Chef Matt has come full circle during his culinary career working in kitchens ranging from casual to exclusive fine dining beginning at Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse.  He was also part of the banquet team at the historic and exclusive Squantum Association in East Providence, Rhode Island.  Chef Matt Haist served as the Executive Chef at Hemenway’s Seafood and Oyster Bar in Providence, Rhode Island for 8 years.  In 2000, he was named RARE Hospitality’s Executive Chef of The Year.  Shortly thereafter, Matt Haist was named Executive Chef at The Capital Grille in Providence, Rhode Island. During his 11-year tenure, Chef Matt was a member of the Darden Corporate Culinary Research & Development Team.  He is currently a Level One sommelier and has extensive knowledge of wine/wine pairings.  Chef Matt can frequently be seen and heard on numerous television and radio show broadcasts such as The Rhode Show, TV Maitre d’, The Providence Journal, CraveRI and more!  Chef Matt Haist is widely recognized in the New England culinary industry.  Creative thinking, innovation, and good old-fashioned hard work have made Chef Matt Haist a leader in every facet of his profession.
